MR SENSOR TECHNICAL INFORMATION

MR Sensor is a technology that detects changes in the magnetic field or the presence or absence of magnetic material as voltage changes by using a magnetoresistive device (MR device). The magnetoresistive effect of MR Sensor is a phenomenon of the electrical resistance of a solid object changing due to a magnetic field.

OUTPUT VOLTAGE

Unlike a magnetic head, even if the distance between the MR Sensor and the detected item is 0.3mm, fifty percent (50%) of the signal is received.

HEAT PROPERTY OF MR SENSOR RESISTANCE VALUE

Indium antimonide (InSb) composite semi-conductor is used in MR Sensors. Temperature affects the resistance value, with a change ratio of roughly -2%/゚C.

OUTPUT VOLTAGE HEAT PROPERTIES

Temperature has an impact on the output voltage of an MR Sensor. At about room temperature, the change ratio is approximately -0.6%/゚C.

READING MAGNETIC PATTERN

Magnetic printing is the process of printing using ink mixed with ferromagnetic particles, and among the most widely recognized items that are magnetically printed is the currencies of countries worldwide. The strongest point of MR Sensor application is reading the magnetic printing patterns of paper currencies to authenticate them.

The real dollar (right) and the counterfeit bill (left) are linked by a diagonal line since not all magnetic patterns can be seen. It is evident that a signal similar to the printed pattern is picked up. Vending machines that accept currency use MR sensors, which use this signal to identify if the money is real or fake. Using a single large-sized sensor, the machine can read the entire paper currency at high speed.
